Going to the Dark Side

Wedding bands typically are white or yellow – which is why one groom’s choosing black

The average groom probably doesn’t spend a lot of time thinking about his wedding band. It’s going to be yellow gold or a white metal (gold, platinum, perhaps even palladium) and that’s that.

Which is why a black ring fits me perfectly.

I don’t wear jewelry at all, so I wasn’t going to take what traditionally might seem as an simple decision very lightly. As I got to thinking about it, the more I felt that a “traditional” ring wasn’t really my style, so I started looking into what “nontrad” options are out there, which is how I found Edward Mirell BlackTi™ rings.

The rings are a titanium alloy that are heated and oxygenated to the point that they actually change color – they’re not painted, plated or coated. The molecular alteration doesn’t just change the color, it increases the metal’s strength while keeping it lightweight.

Which is all well and good to me. I just like the way the solid black Nightshade band will look.
