Flower Girl Gratitude
How to say thanks to the little ones helping out during your big day
A flower girl’s job might seem simple, but how how you tell her thanks might seem a little complex.
While you should give your flower girl a thank-you gift for participating in your event, it doesn’t have to be on par with what you get the bridal party, says Valarie Kirkbride, a wedding planner with Kirkbrides Wedding Planning & Design in Cleveland. She suggests filling a goodie bag with items like games and toys that might help occupy the child during the ceremony and reception. You can also ask the parent if the child collects anything or if there is a toy she covets, says Sharon Naylor, author of over 30 wedding books including “The Bride’s Survival Guide” (Adams Media, 2009).
If the child is a little older, she might prefer a video game, a DVD, an iTunes gift card or let her pick out a T-shirt at CafePress.com – “Twilight” tees start at $22.
And don’t forget a framed wedding photo for the parents who, what with all the shopping, alterations and prepping, are probably doing more than half the work.
