Stressed-out brides-to-be might want to think pink to bring a little calm into their wedding planning.

Honeysuckle, the reddish pink hue recently named the 2011 Color of the Year by PANTONE, is noted by the color authority for “instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.”

“In times of stress, we need something to life our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going,” PANTONE Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman said as part of the COTY announcement.

On the wedding front, PANTONE says the eye-catching color works well day or night for women’s apparel, and adds a lively flair not to just ceremony décor but future home décor like linens, pillows and tabletop items that might be on a couple’s registry. And if ever there was a year to serve a cosmopolitan as a signature cocktail, next year will be it.

Honeysuckle wedding wares are available as part of PANTONE Wedding, the color source’s partnership with the Dessy Group, which manufactures special occasion dresses and accessories.
